With the floor prepped, we will apply a base layer of epoxy while mixing the following layers. If you chose metallic epoxy, the pigments are mixed in at this step. Next, several layers are applied and finished with a clear topcoat to reach the desired floor thickness. If you opted for decorative flake epoxy, the flakes would be layered over the epoxy before the clear topcoat is installed. Once all flakes, metallic pigments, or patterns are in place, and the finishing coat applied, the floor simply needs to cure. Your new garage epoxy floor will be fully cured after 72 hours, making it ready for both foot and vehicle traffic.
